Rio Rico junior Roshan Tinoco-Miranda won the 5-kilometer Division 3 boys title in 15:53.4 at the Arizona AIA state championship meet at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Tinoco-Miranda, who finished 30th last year in 17:38.9, became the first Rio Rico male athlete to capture a state crown since Carlos Villarreal in 2014 and helped the Hawks place sixth with 225 points.
